Usability & Accessibility
John Lewis

I took leadership in the second release of the website to ensure accessibility and DDA compliance. I worked closely with the Royal National Institute for the Blind to understand the needs and expectations of blind and partially sighted people when interacting with websites, implementing code and tags to increase accessibility of all sites produced by the John Lewis Partnership. All John Lewis and Waitrose websites produced by our team were tested by the RNIB at release to ensure they reached the required standards for inclusion.

In addition, I held learning sessions to give the wider John Lewis digital team a better understanding about the importance of inclusivity when building websites and the methods used, including demonstrations of the 'Jaws' software used by hearing impaired customers.
